1. the point where two rivers flow together
1. An ancient city stands at the confluence of these two rivers.
2. (figurative) a flowing together from different directions of people, ideas, etcetera
2. My new book represents the confluence of several ideas I have been working over the last five years.
com (together)#fluere (to flow) (Latin)
'Connect' by 'Influence' it means ~ the place where two rivers flow together and become one larger river!! so above mnemonics are all wrong. Confluence = Come (con) + flow (together):) sounds like influence. you bring people together by means of your influence.
